The End of Summer

Hello, Everyone!!!.

I brought this two piece set from Target at least two years ago and it's still trendy today. I've worn the pieces of this set on the blog, however only with other pieces in my closet but never together. It goes to show you if you shop smart for trendy pieces, you should be able to rework them for different seasons with other items. It is that time of the year when the early morning temperatures are slightly cooler than midday so I decided to pair the two piece set with a denim jacket. The head to toe print allowed me to keep the accessories and shoes nice and simple.

A Pop of Yellow

Hello, Everyone!!!.

Fall has officially arrived but it doesn't mean you have to throw your summer wardrobe to the back of your closet just yet, especially your whites !!!!. I'm not sure who created the rule that you shouldn't wear white after labor day however every year I break that rule (seen HERE). Earlier this week, I paired my white peplum blazer with another summer essential , the crop top. To make the combination Fall - appropriate  I choose a pair of high waisted trousers and black mules to ground the look. Lastly I accessorized with a simple choker necklace that I wear all the time.

A New Year

A new year is quickly approaching us and if you are anything like me , you do not know where you are going or most importantly what you want to wear on this special day. Many people stay home and watch the ball drop in the privacy of their own home or attend a New Years Eve party either way you need a stylishly outfit to enter the new year.
Here are a few outfits that are perfect for any events on New Years Eve.

Sequin Ball

Nothing screams New Years like SEQUINS. I love a good matching set and Target made this dream possible.

I brought this coordinate set on clearance last Summer at Target. I had my eyes of this set on Target's  website before it went on sale so I was very happy when it was finally marked down. Who says you have to run out and buy a whole new outfit?. It is much easier to rework the items you already owned which will help you save money to celebrate the night.

A matching set easily takes out a lot of the guesswork of outfit planning. This matching set features a mirrored print crop top and slim fitting pencil skirt. I did not want to compete with the print of the top or the sequins in the skirt so I kept the look simple and decided against any jewelry.

I finished the look with basic black pumps although not pictured here I would also add a pair of simple tights.

Sexy Suiting

The minute I brought this velvet suit into the fitting room to try on during the release of Altuzarra for Target collection.
I KNEW THAT I WOULD LOVE IT !!!.

Every year the people of Pantone choose the color of the year and according to Pantone the color for the New Year is Marsala, better known as burgundy
Over the last few seasons, burgundy has become a Fall favorite become of its Earthy rich wine color.

We all know how to wear all black from head to toe but is it possible to wear any color in the same matter, I say ABSOLUTELY!!!. Without any hesitation, I choose a pair of burgundy chunky pumps to match the suit which complimented my nail polish as well.

I accessorized the look with gold rings to finish the look.

Casual Eve

If you do not want to participate in traditional New Years Eve  events, you can always stay home or catch an early movie before the late night crowd rush.

Although it will be cold in NYC I choose this teal body con skirt which I would pair with nude tights to give the illusion of bare legs without freezing.

The slim fitted skirt is the perfect paring for a oversized boxy sweater.

When I brought this plaid blanket scarf this season I knew I would have no trouble planning outfits around it. I picked out the colors in the scarf to match the green satchel, teal skirt and the navy pea coat.

To finish the look I choose a comfortable pair of wedge booties and oversized wool hat to keep me extra warm.

Skirt: Thrift store

Friends Night Out

You can never go wrong with an all black outfit for any occasion.  This look is what I like to call the un-traditional suiting because the jacket and pants don't necessary match but they do go together.
I choose a cropped open draped  jacket that I brought from H&M a long time ago and trousers from Banana Republic monogram collection.

I started this look with these high waisted trousers that feature an overlap waistband and I topped it off with a sheer corset top.

Lingerie can be worn as outerwear if done correctly. If you feel self conscious, it is best to wear it  layered under articles of clothing such as jackets with only a peek exposed.

I finished the look with basic black pumps and a long multi-layered necklace. I decided to wear my hair in a low ponytail to show off the necklace.

Top: Macy's

Please don't judge me if I wear these outfits way after New Years lol

Until next time, XOXO

A Walk in the Park

After another long week of school, I am reserving this weekend for a more relaxing environment. You will be amazed by the hidden gems you can find in your neighborhood when you venture out and explore them. Today I found a great park in Brooklyn, it is the perfect spot to unwind and also to take some great shots outdoors.
You can never go wrong with a pair of boyfriend jeans on the weekend. They are the most comfortable type of jeans to wear casually or dress up. I brought these pair of boyfriend jeans at Banana Republic a few years ago, the light wash and built-in rips give the perfect distressed look. I am not ready to retire this crop top to the back of my closet yet, so I layered it over a basic white t-shirt for extra coverage.
