Bombs Over Brooklyn

Hello, Everyone!!!!.

I can't believe we are literally days away from Fall. Last friday we got a brief preview of what's to come,  hence the floral print bomber I have draped over my shoulders.  Fall happens to be one of my seasons because I can get away with wearing my summer favorites with this bomber jacket. Bomber jackets are a must have for fall and very versatile. I wore this outfit to class and then later for date night. I paired the floral bomber jacket with highwaisted pants and a tank top that I cropped myself. I've been wearing my D.I.Y choker with pretty much everything, so it made the perfect accessory with the bomber.

Two 90's trend in one outfit for the win !!

Tickle Me Pink

Hello, Everyone !!!!.

Today marks the first day of my spring break and I have a lot of catching up to do for school. Hopefully I am able to find time to enjoy the beautiful weather and meet all of the deadlines. On the other hand, I am happy I can start to pull out my sandals each day because I was getting tired of wearing boots. I like to pair these printed pants with blazers for a sophisticated look. I worn them with a white blazer previously on the blog but this week I decided to wear a pink blazer instead with a matching bodysuit underneath.

It's Banana !!!

Hello, Everyone!!!!

Who knew a 5'1" women like myself could look so tall in extreme flares?. I never been a fan of flare jeans because as a petite women I find it to be hard work finding the perfect pair of flare jeans that I do not have to tailor or find the right pair of shoes. But today I said "f" that and I proceeded to pop the tags off these jeans that I had for years but never worn 'til now. I should've taken the plunge a long time ago  but its better late than never, right? If I was smart I would've taking fashion clues from my mom a long time ago who always had a flair for flares. I paired my extreme flares with a loose leopard print top and my camel cape coat that I belted with a suede brown belt. This spring season I plan on wearing more of my flare jeans with platform sandals and simple tops. I'm definitely happy that I jumped head first into this classic staple.

Welcome to Spring

Hello, Everyone!!!

It may be Spring however mother nature has been playing a cruel joke on us in the Tri-state area. You know something is wrong when you still able to wear your favorite winter clothes blended in with your favorite fall clothes as picture below. At the beginning of the week I found myself wearing a oversized turtleneck dress with cognac over the knee boots and my camel cape  I felt I could get away with wearing it as a dress to embrace the "no pants trend" made popular by celebs. However I do not have the luxury of the warm weather as in LA, so I paired the dress with thick opaque tights for warmth. I've changed up the look up by belting the dress with a cognac skinny belt which matches the oversized bag rather than the over the knee boots. Since the weather can be unpredictable from early morning to mid afternoon, I've made a conscious decision to wear my hair in a high bun. It allows me to protect my natural hair from unnecessary heat damage.

Off The Wall

Hello, Everyone!!!.

This entire outfit is surrounded by this new bag that I received as a birthday gift from my best friend of more than ten years. I love unexpected gifts that are the best !!!. I must say she knows my style very well. I was in dreary need of a new black tote so it came at the perfect time. I was able to forgo a coat on Friday, it was an amazing spring- like weather last week, I was able to bring out my spring jackets and coats including this cape blazer. I wanted to showcase the cape blazer by pairing it with a pair of skinny jeans for a slimming effect. I decided to layer a leopard printed shirt underneath that I button to the top which I accesorized with a multi-layered silver necklace.

Old Navy Style

Hello, Everyone !!!.
Midi skirts are a curvy girl best friend. Although midi skirts may seem matronly but for as far as I can remember I always loved a skirt with a little flare that hugs my hips. When you wear full skirts, it is important to show some skin so I decided to wear a fitted cardigan that I unbuttoned to show some cleavage. When it comes to layering outerwear in the winter you can layer your favorite spring jackets such as denim or leather jackets under your wool coats. I decided to layer a denim jacket under a brown overcoat that I accessorized with a faux fur scarf. It was a very warm last weekend so I skipped the tights and choose a pair of cognac booties that matched the stripes in the skirt.

Peachy Keen

Hello, Everyone!!!!.

After I seen a stunning statement coral coat with gathering on the shoulders by Zara a few years ago, I jumped up with glee when I saw this coral collarless coat at Target.  Coral is known to be worn in the Spring with pastels or light neutrals but it has a place in the Winter when paired with darker browns, black and cognac. It is the perfect eyecatching color and immediately you will stand out in a crowd among thousands of black coats in NYC. I paired my coral coat with a matching top and a pair of skinny jeans. I accessorized with a statement necklace for extra bling. I tend to stick to neutral outerwear in black, biege or green because of their versatility to wear with everything in my wardrobe but it doesn't hurt to have that one special coat. This coat has literally injected new life into my winter outerwear wardrobe!!!.
