It's Banana !!!

Hello, Everyone!!!!

Who knew a 5'1" women like myself could look so tall in extreme flares?. I never been a fan of flare jeans because as a petite women I find it to be hard work finding the perfect pair of flare jeans that I do not have to tailor or find the right pair of shoes. But today I said "f" that and I proceeded to pop the tags off these jeans that I had for years but never worn 'til now. I should've taken the plunge a long time ago  but its better late than never, right? If I was smart I would've taking fashion clues from my mom a long time ago who always had a flair for flares. I paired my extreme flares with a loose leopard print top and my camel cape coat that I belted with a suede brown belt. This spring season I plan on wearing more of my flare jeans with platform sandals and simple tops. I'm definitely happy that I jumped head first into this classic staple.

Crop Tops in Spring ??....

Hello, Everyone!!!.

Its April and who would've thought I could still wear my faux fur vest. I was hoping that I could throw all my winter clothes to the back of my  closet and start wearing more springy outfits. However I was able to get away with wearing a light pleated maxi skirt by winterizing it with the black faux fur vest  Its all an balance act when pairing unseasonable items together in one outfit. I paired the maxi skirt that I cut off the bottom half to make it into  a crop top. I am not too sure if wedge sneakers are still in fashion or not but I still wear both of mines proudly. I wanted to dress down the maxi skirt so I wore it with my black wedge sneakers.

Casual Days

Hello, Everyone!!!

Mondays can be such a drag, and sometimes you do not want to get out of bed or dress up.  Particularly this past Monday I had to mentally prepared myself to take two important biology exams early in the morning  soI wanted to dress as comfortable as possible. When I woke up I had a whole different look in mind but decided to start with a pair of leather pants which in my opinion you can never go wrong as your foundation piece. I paired the leather pants with a white t-shirt and my boyfriend's hoodie which fits like a longline oversized hoodie on me. It was a pretty warm and breezy day so I ditched the winter coat for a leather jacket that I paired with a faux fur vest.

The Basics

Hello, Everyone!!!

A white shirt is essential in every women's wardrobe. It is imperative that you owe at least two white shirts so you swap them out  because it does not stay stark white after a few wears. They can be added to any outfit to add a level of sophication.  This particular shirt I brought before my weight loss so I tied the tails of the shirt higher than usual so my waist doesn't disappear in the extra material. I wore my over the knee boots because they blend seamlessly with my denim/leather chaps, at first glance they look like thigh high boots I.e Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. I threw on a leather jacket to wear under my wool coat because it was beyond freezing on this day.
It's where fashion meets functionality, the perfect combination.!!!!!

Sweet but Sexy Turtleneck

Hello, Everyone!!!

I hope you had a great start to the New Year so far. I have some exciting news about a new job opportunity that I am praying comes true. Wish me luck!!!. Over the weekend this is what I wore for my celebratory date night with my boyfriend for getting the dream interview. I kept my look simple but sexy by pairing faux leather leggings with a sleeveless turtleneck sweater.  I belted the sleeveless turtleneck sweater with a thick corset belt to accentuate my waist but also break up the black by adding more texture. I topped the look off with a contrast leather sleeved coat which I layered a cowl over to keep me warm as the night became colder.

The Secret is You Got To Coordinate

Hello, Everyone!!!

As you all read this, I am studying for my  finals. I cannot believe the semester is coming to an end but I can admit that I am thrilled. I am determined to end my Fall semester with a big bang academically and fashionably. At the beginning of the week I made my getting ready morning routine easier by choosing a quilted co-ordinate set. I brought this grey crop top and skirt coordinate set last year and have worn each piece with other items in my wardrobe but decided to wear them together this time. I am not a huge fan of boxy mini skirts because my hips are larger then my top half however I don't mind if they are a-line or skater style.  The short hem of the skirt allows extra leg room to wear my favorite thigh high boots. Then I added a leather jacket and faux fur vest to keep me warm.

Holy Chic, It's Hot in December

Hello, Everyone!!!!

I believe mother nature has loss her entire mind, I'm not complaining either. This morning I woke up to temperatures at 57 degrees but the good weather does not stop there the remaining of the weekend will be in the lower 60's. I can get use to this weather. I don't mind trading places with LA weather in December. Today I decided to sans the coat entirely and traded it in for my faux fur vest. I paired it with a graphic sweatshirt and loose fit trousers for a comfortable look for the last day of class.

Winter Breeze

Hello, Everyone!!!

It was unusually cold at the beginning of the week, old man winter has arrived particularly early just in time for thanksgiving weekend. It was impossible to take off my coat to show off my printed dress without risking getting sick. However I decided to showcase my grey wool coat that I brought at Banana Republic a few years ago. The 3/4 quarter sleeves on the coat allow you to layer with long sleeve sweaters or you can accessorize with long leather gloves when you don't want to wear a sweater underneath. It is very important to wear more layers then usual when wearing your dresses in colder weather so I decided to wear my over the knee boots to keep me warm and I added a faux fur scarf to top it off.

50 Shades of Brown

Hello, Everyone!!!!.

At the beginning of every week I like to have an idea of what I want to wear to school. However there are days when I don't hear my alarm in the morning and I oversleep. When this happens , I believe that my best outfits come when I have the least amount of time to get ready. The more time I have available, I am left contemplating what to wear and leaving my house in a fashionably mess. Over the weekend I grabbed the nearest pair of dark jeans I could find as my foundation to this look. The fall temperatures are beginning to come around so I used that to my advantage by layering a chunky sweater under my boxy brown coat. To stay warm I bundled up with a faux fur collar. This bang hairstyle is giving me 70's vibes so I accessorized with big vintage sunglasses and dark brown knee high boots.
