Two Times The Charm

Hello, Everyone !!!!.

I know I've mentioned in a blog post late last year about how happy I was when I came across these culottes at Target.  I was even more elated when the creators of Who What Wear collection for Target created their own version of culottes. I was happy that it was one less thing i had to buy off my shopping checklist. I kept the silhouette simple with black and white with a few new extras including a pussy bow blouse, floppy hat and moto - jacket.

The Basics

Hello, Everyone!!!

A white shirt is essential in every women's wardrobe. It is imperative that you owe at least two white shirts so you swap them out  because it does not stay stark white after a few wears. They can be added to any outfit to add a level of sophication.  This particular shirt I brought before my weight loss so I tied the tails of the shirt higher than usual so my waist doesn't disappear in the extra material. I wore my over the knee boots because they blend seamlessly with my denim/leather chaps, at first glance they look like thigh high boots I.e Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. I threw on a leather jacket to wear under my wool coat because it was beyond freezing on this day.
It's where fashion meets functionality, the perfect combination.!!!!!

Too Cool-ulottes for School

Hello , Everyone!!!

I've been wanting a pair of culottes ever since they resurfaced in the fashion world a few years ago. When I saw these high rise pleated black culottes at Target I knew I had to buy them. Culottes are a throwback to the 70's fashion. When I was a kid they were referred to as gauchos, it shows you that everything old comes back in fashion. The great thing about less structured culottes is their appearance of a full skirt so you can dress up them the same way. To add structure to the baggy flair of culottes l would suggest pairing them with a fitted black blazer or a cropped leather jacket that falls at the top of the culottes. Today I kept the look simple with a black and white palette. I chose a v-neck white t-shirt and a cropped leather jacket that I accessorized with a silver multi-chain necklace.
When winter approaches, I'll be pairing these culottes with a chucky turtleneck sweater under a faux fur vest and knee high boots. Would you try the culottes trend this Fall?

Dressed Up Fridays

Hello, Everyone!!!!.
All I can say is Thank God It's Friday but it doesn't mean you have to dress down on this day. Today I decided to incorporate my casual leather joggers into my look however I choose to dress it up. Joggers always get a bad reputation for being casual and unkept but I am here to dismiss those false assumptions. I paired my joggers with a deep plunge bodysuit for a sexy look instead of a simple white T-shirt which is a causal item.  I topped the look off with an oversized boyfriend fit blazer and accessorized with a long silver necklace. Finally I dressed up the look with lace up sandals that I refuse to pack away.

Blazer: Thrift store
Bodysuit: Boohoo

The Little BW (Black & white) Dress

Hello, Everyone!!!.

I know we've all heard of the "LBD" also known as the little black dress, but let me introduce you to the little black and white dress. Stripes are one of my favorite prints because of its versatility. Stripes can be worn with solid colors or unexpected combinations such as floral or even leopard print. Last spring I wore this striped midi dress as a pencil skirt which I paired with a graphic sweatshirt (seen HERE ). I am a firm believer in getting the most out of the pieces in your wardrobe. I decided to wear the dress on its own with minimum accessories . I choose to accessorize with a silver choker style necklace and big round sunglasses.

Everbody Loves A Shirtdress

Hello, Everyone !!!!

A shirtdress is the perfect option to wear on those casual Fridays, here is what I wore to class. When I initially brought  this white shirtdress I was gonna wear it on its own however the sheer material and side splits made that impossible. Luckily I love to pair my shirtdress with denim cutoffs as seen here. I choose a pair of thrifted black Levi jeans that I made into denim cutoffs to wear underneath the shirtdress. You can never go wrong with pairing black and white together for a simple and chic look. I accessorize with a silver multi chain necklace and a stacked bangle. I've been wearing my natural hair in this halo braid hairstyle all week and I absolutely love it.  It is the perfect hairstyle for the end of summer humid and hot days. To spice up the hairstyle up I threw on my black floppy hat to finish off my look.
