Goodbye March, Hello April

Hello, Everyone !!!.

April is very special month for me because the people that I hold closest to my heart  were born in this month including my mom, boyfriend who are right behind each other and also my best friend. That only means one thing , I have three reasons to celebrate their day, fashionably of course. Now that winter is far behind us, I want to recap the my favorite outfits that I wore in the month of March. I was able to wear my two favorite  pieces from the Who What Wear first collections for Target including the moto- jacket and cape blazer. I'm always wearing black and white but I was able to introduce this amazing cobalt blue moto jacket into one of my looks. I've own this leopard print shirt for over fours years now to inject new life into it by pairing it with any blazer but a chic cape blazer. You can never go wrong with black and white looks in the middle of winter, don't you agree?.

Two Times The Charm

Hello, Everyone !!!!.

I know I've mentioned in a blog post late last year about how happy I was when I came across these culottes at Target.  I was even more elated when the creators of Who What Wear collection for Target created their own version of culottes. I was happy that it was one less thing i had to buy off my shopping checklist. I kept the silhouette simple with black and white with a few new extras including a pussy bow blouse, floppy hat and moto - jacket.

Cranberry Dreaming

Hello, Everyone!!!.

If you stick to the Fall colors in nature, you will find the best combinations to incorporate into your daily outfits. Burgundy is one of my favorite colors to wear for Fall, it looks great paired with denim, camel or black. Leopard and burgundy are a fool-proof combination to wear together. Instead of wearing the usual blue denim, I opted for a pair of burgundy skinny pants. I paired the burgundy pants with a beige silk top. Leopard can be worn as any neutral because of the mixture of camel and black so I decided to wear leopard print pumps.

Fall Dressing

Hello, Everyone!!!.

If this dress doesn't look familiar to you, well it should. I wore it at the very beginning of summer (seen HERE) when the weather was picture perfect unlike the weather we are experiencing today in the tri-state area. I decided to wear a dress on the last hot and humid day of the season before it becomes inappropriate to wear sandals and expose my bare legs to the Fall chill. I made the dress fall- appropriate by layering with a boxy blazer that I found at the thrift store if you couldn't tell by the huge shoulder pads. I swapped out the platform wedges for lace up wedged sandals because it gives the illusion of a knee high boot. I accessorized with my faithful floppy hat and silver hoops instead of silver bangles.

Everbody Loves A Shirtdress

Hello, Everyone !!!!

A shirtdress is the perfect option to wear on those casual Fridays, here is what I wore to class. When I initially brought  this white shirtdress I was gonna wear it on its own however the sheer material and side splits made that impossible. Luckily I love to pair my shirtdress with denim cutoffs as seen here. I choose a pair of thrifted black Levi jeans that I made into denim cutoffs to wear underneath the shirtdress. You can never go wrong with pairing black and white together for a simple and chic look. I accessorize with a silver multi chain necklace and a stacked bangle. I've been wearing my natural hair in this halo braid hairstyle all week and I absolutely love it.  It is the perfect hairstyle for the end of summer humid and hot days. To spice up the hairstyle up I threw on my black floppy hat to finish off my look.

Jumpin', Jumpin'

Hello. Everyone!!!.

Summer is slowly ending kicking and screaming. I am looking forward to the days when I can wear a light jacket or sweater draped over my shoulders on my way to school. Fortunately yesterday I got my wish, I woke up to thunder and heavy downpours which gave the tri-state area a much needed cool down. Originally I planned on wearing denim cuts with a t-shirt and sleeveless vest but that quickly changed when I listened to the weatherman and witnessed it for myself. I decided to go with an all black outfit featuring my new wide leg jumpsuit. This jumpsuit saved my life one day when I was caught in a unexpected intense thunderstorm during a family cook-out. We had to end the festivities earlier then expected but the damage was done, we were all drenched from head-to-toe. I had plans to go to movie theatre with my boyfriend to see "Straight Outta Compton" later that evening and I couldn't go home to change so I had to think fast.

While walking to meet up with him, I ran into a reasonably priced boutique in Downtown Brooklyn where I found this lovely jumpsuit. Thank God I was wearing the right accessories and shoes that complimented the jumpsuit so well. Like every other shopaholic, I just need one reason to buy something new especially a chic jumpsuit. Yesterday I paired the halter- top style jumpsuit with a oversized open cardigan to keep me warm under air condition situations. I choose a gold metal-plated to cinch in my waist and gold thong sandals to finish the look. To add a bold pop of color to my outfit, I choose a red lipstick by the brand Black Radiance. Recently I mentioned that I adore this brand you should definitely check them out for yourself.
You will not regret it.....
