Goodbye April, Hello May

Hello, Everyone!!!

I am sorry I am late posting my favorite looks from April but May has been a little hectic for me, between writing papers left and right while studying for my finals. As I am writing to you , I am cramming for my finals. However I've been taking pictures of my outfit that will be published once my finals are finished. I thought I would leave you with the looks I wore last month in the meantime. In the month of April I wore plenty of prints from animal print top to jacquard print cape.

It's Banana !!!

Hello, Everyone!!!!

Who knew a 5'1" women like myself could look so tall in extreme flares?. I never been a fan of flare jeans because as a petite women I find it to be hard work finding the perfect pair of flare jeans that I do not have to tailor or find the right pair of shoes. But today I said "f" that and I proceeded to pop the tags off these jeans that I had for years but never worn 'til now. I should've taken the plunge a long time ago  but its better late than never, right? If I was smart I would've taking fashion clues from my mom a long time ago who always had a flair for flares. I paired my extreme flares with a loose leopard print top and my camel cape coat that I belted with a suede brown belt. This spring season I plan on wearing more of my flare jeans with platform sandals and simple tops. I'm definitely happy that I jumped head first into this classic staple.

Off The Wall

Hello, Everyone!!!.

This entire outfit is surrounded by this new bag that I received as a birthday gift from my best friend of more than ten years. I love unexpected gifts that are the best !!!. I must say she knows my style very well. I was in dreary need of a new black tote so it came at the perfect time. I was able to forgo a coat on Friday, it was an amazing spring- like weather last week, I was able to bring out my spring jackets and coats including this cape blazer. I wanted to showcase the cape blazer by pairing it with a pair of skinny jeans for a slimming effect. I decided to layer a leopard printed shirt underneath that I button to the top which I accesorized with a multi-layered silver necklace.

Cape Blazer: Birthday Edition

Hello, Everyone!!!

I can wear leather any day out the week but on my birthday it made me feel quite sexy. As I get older, I don't feel the need to go on a mad dash to find the perfect "birthday" outfit. This year I decided to put together a sexy leather outfit with pieces I already owned. My foundation pieces included a leather sleeve graphic T-shirt and pencil skirt. I layered a peplum top over the T-shirt to give the illusion of a leather peplum dress. The only new edition to this look is a cape blazer from Who What Wear collection for Target  when I purchased it at the beginning of the month I had no idea I would wear it on my birthday but it just made sense. The Who What Wear collection is full updated basics and I want it all. Particularly I have my eyes on the cobalt blue moto jacket and the floral pencil skirt which I would probably wear together or separately. The boots are semi- new as well since I have yet to wear them. I swapped out my school bag for a small black clutch and violia I was ready to celebrate my day in style.

Overall Plaid

Hello, Everyone!!!.

Before the temps dropped to a whole new lowwww!!!, I sneaked in one last time to wear my favorite cape. I paired the cape with light wash overalls that I've worn in the warmer months last year. I kept the look pretty simple by wearing two different length necklaces for the perfect layered look. To stay warm I strategically layered a leather jacket over a long sleeve t-shirt and I accessorized with a knit beanie and mittens that matched the red in the cape. And added my signature red lip for pizzazz!!!.

Knitwear Kraze

Hello, Everyone!!!

When me and my mom saw this printed masterpiece in the H&M window at the mall in December I knew it had to be mine. Initially  I was drawn to it  because I thought it was a cape and you know how much I love capes and ponchos. When I realized it was a jacquard print knit cardigan I was shocked because I normally don't wear cardigans but this printed one is the only exception!!!. Although it cost $60 which is pretty steep for a cardigan but it is totally worth it because of the versatility I can wear it all year long.  I decided to wear it as a cape by layering it over a brown shawl cowl overcoat. I accessorized with a few brown accessories including a fedora, suede belt and laced up wedges.
