Marsala, Much?

Hello, Everyone,  I hope you having a good week so far.
This is what I wore to school yesterday. According to the Pantone Color Institute, Marsala is the color of the year. In the words of the Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman "This hearty, yet stylish is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors". It can easily be used in your home or your wardrobe, HOW GREAT IS THAT?.

Burgundy is the great color to wear monochromatic other than the traditional black or white. I dressed myself from the bottom to the top  starting with these pair of burgundy wedge sneakers. I paired the sneakers with colored jeans in the same color. These very frigid temperatures in NYC has made my faux fur vest a major fixture in my daily outfits. they add warmth under my Winter coats but also a stylish flair.

I decided to wear a pinkish beige under the faux fur vest and I topped it off a statement necklace. My marsala obsession did not end there I also decided to carry a marsala colored bag to hold all of my necessities for the day.

Maxi-mium Effect

Hello, Everyone!!! After a week of school, the weekend is finally here.
On Thursday I was given the opportunity to wear this amazing pleated maxi skirt.

If it was up to me, I would wear my dresses and skirts every single day they instantly make me feel dressed up with very little effort. However wearing them can be a bit of a challenge in the colder months, it takes some serious layering skills to maintain your style and stay warm.

This skirt is not necessarily for Winter because of the sheer thin overlay so I added a pair of skinny jeans and thick leggings underneath. My original plan was to wear the maxi skirt with wedge booties but my wedge sneakers were more comfortable after a long day. I choose a simple v-neck sweater to keep the attention on the skirt.

Lately I've been into wearing belts over everything from tops to jackets and today wasn't any different. I choose a thinner belt this time to define  my waist  over the long layers.

I did not want to wear a oversize winter coat so I choose my favorite motorcycle leather jacket and faux fur vest to achieve the most flattering look in proportion.

I finished the look with a simple collar necklace, beige cowl and an amazing turban style hat made by my mom. As I previous discussed I fell in love with this red lipstick by Black Radiance I couldn't resist wearing it again.

Platform Photoshoot

Hello, Everyone, I have some exciting news!!.
The semester is officially over, today was my last day for finals. Here is a quick look at what I wore to school. I really am a New Yorker at heart because I will use any excuse to wear almost all black especially on a rainy day. In my opinion black can be worn every season and for every occasion. I choose a pair of simple black pants from H&M that are slightly high-waisted.  Just like the color black, crops tops can be worn all year long by layering it under thicker jackets or sweaters.

I choose to pair my crop top with a open sweater and accessorized with a multi-layered necklace. Today I was going for a casual look so I added my favorite wedge sneakers in black, of course.

To add some glam, I choose my leather jacket and faux fur vest as my outerwear.

Sidenote: The Pumpkin Spice latte from Dunkin Donuts is my Winter favorite drink !!!.

You must try it

It definitely helped me stay awake during my morning classes.

Camo Fever

Good Evening, Everyone!!!.
This is what I wore today. It is a very messy day in NYC, we are currently being hit with a Northeaster so you know what that means snows is quickly approaching.  Which isn't foreign because I remember that it snowed almost every day last December.  Its another day for me that  I was not able to wear what I planned so I choose function over fashion.

camo
I choose this camouflage men's sweater, THAT'S RIGHT  I said MEN'S that I brought last Winter from Target. It is the perfect medium weight sweater to wear on a December day.  I purchased the sweater in the size small so it won't overpower my frame and it fits me perfectly.  Who says you can't wear clothes from the Men's department?!!. The key to wearing men's clothes depends on the fit. I would stay away from tailored items such as the classic white shirt however sweaters and t-shirts are easy to wear on a women's body and can be worn fitted or oversized without looking unkempt.

To jazz it up, I added a pair of faux leather leggings that I brought from H&M a few years ago when I went through a phase of wearing only black leggings. The leather look adds a little glam to your basic leggings. I decided to go against wearing any boots with heels because I did not want to fight with keeping my balance and wrestling with an umbrella.  So I picked a pair of wedge sneakers that resembles the infamous  Isabel Marant wedge sneakers that I brought from Target as well. I accessorized with a long gold necklace, rings  and a black handbag.
For additional warmth. I added my puffy coat and bright purple cowl that my mom made for me.
Today is definitely not a good hair day so I choose to wear a wig as well to protect my hair against the elements. Do you like it ?, it was great for today.

Camel Love

Camel coats are a timeless piece that never goes out of style.
From a young girl, I always loved the allure of a classic wool coat that shows off a women's natural shape but maintains a ladylike appeal.

A little black dress is the perfect pairing for a camel coat.
I choose a simple long sleeved black dress  that I paired with my wedge sneakers to keep the look casual and comfortable. To add some glam, I choose a gold and black layered necklace that features charms.

The statement piece of the outfit is this fabulous mixed media coat by Bebe. It features an exposed zipper and leather sleeves with a wrap belt to cinch in the waist creating an hourglass effect.

Dress: Banana Republic (similar)
Sneakers: Target (high end version)
Bag: Forever 21(similar)

Here are some lovely ladies rocking this trend on the streets.
Will you be wearing camel this season?..
