Hello, Everyone!!!.

 

 

When I first created my blog a year ago, I introduced posts titled "Tag Tuesdays" as a way for you, my reader to get to know me on a personal level. Below are a few 10 random facts about me.

 

1. I hate bugs, it is definitely the worst time of the year for me. I do whatever I can to kill them. Even if I see a bug on TV I will freak out & start to itch.

2. I love hot sauce on everything !!!!,  I keep hot sauce in my bag, SWAG lol

3. My astrological sign is Pisces.

4. I can be pretty shy around people I do not know, however  I am easy to talk to.

5. I do not like to dance in public, it's where my shyness is at the highest. But my boyfriend is very slowly getting me to dance with him.

6. I can listen to music for hours, especially 90's and early 2000's it brings me back to the good olé times.

7. I eat salmon at least once a week for dinner *basil and garlic recipe I found online*

8. My favorite TV shows at the moment is Shameless and Power, I live for a good drama.

9. I have committed to a no heat challenge for my natural hair journey which means no curling iron or blow dryer for a year. So far it's been 3 months.

 

10. I've start a new weight loss journey and I made it my mission to drink half my body weight in water.

2. What is your best style advice or tip? Wear whatever makes you feel good do not dress for anyone but yourself.

3.What was your style like as a teen? It is great thing that social media did not exist when I was in high school because I'm not too sure if I would've liked what I seen. Here are a few personal pictures from my yearbook. Let's just say my style has changed and evolved because since my teens and I am happy for that. You have to try out different styles before you find your own personal style.

4.What type of outfit do you wear the most? All Black is my go-to outfit when I do not know what to wear. You can never go wrong with an monochromatic outfit. In high school my prom dress was black and my wedding dress will probably be black as well.

5. Who is your favorite designer? BCBG Max Azria. I look forward to their collection every New York Fashion Week.

Sweater Weather (Tag Tuesdays)

Hello, Everyone!!. We are currently experiencing some terrible weather this week, Old Man Winter will not let up and I am one of his casualties (insert mad face).  As soon as I walked outside of my house I experienced a serious boot fashion malfunction, my feet were soaking wet because of all the rain and slush. NOTE to self: Buy some real snow boots ASAP!!!. On days like this, the perfect outfit begins with a great sweater to pair with jeans or leather leggings as shown HERE.  So I thought today would be the perfect time to do the Sweater Weather tag,  the winter edition. *Some questions omitted to fit the current season*

1. Favorite candle scent? Japanese Cherry Blossom by Bath and Body Works

3. What's the best Fall Winter memory you have? I wouldn't say it is my best memory but it is definitely the funniest.  I remember it like it was yesterday, it was a snowy Winter day when me and my parents were leaving our home. I was holding on to my fathers hand
when I witness my mother falling on her backside. Me and my father were so overcome with laughter that shortly after we were all on our backside. And to this day I take all of the necessary precautions every Winter to avoid falling in the snow.
4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner? Both

5. Best fragrance for Fall Winter? Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf

6. What is Autumn Winter weather like where you live? It is currently 12° but it feels like 0.

7.Most worn sweater? I wear it throughout the year.

9. Football games or jumping in leaf piles? The kid in me would say jumping in pile of leaves but as a adult, NO WAY!!.

Tag Tuesdays

                       

Today's tag is the "This or That Tag"  that was recreated by the singer Amerie. I recently discovered she has a channel on YouTube called Books Beauty Amerie and I am obsessed.  If you are unaware who is, she is a R&B singer that debuted in the early 2000's with her smash hit "Why Do We Fall in Love" and other countless hits. On her YouTube channel, she showcases her favorite books and beauty products.  She has definitely inspired me to read more books and less magazines.

Now let's begin...

1. Fruits or Vegetables 
Vegetables.  My favorite vegetables are spinach, string beans collard greens and cabbage.
 2. Physical books or E-books
Physical books. My only experience with e-books started when I downloaded the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy.  However I brought the physical copy of it. It just feels better to touch the pages and you are able to fold the pages to bookmark where you stopped.
3. Neutral lip or Red lip
Red lip. I do love a good red lip.  It is a classic makeup look.
 4. Early Riser or Late Riser
 Early riser.  I like to wake up early so I can get ready to start my day. When I registered for the Spring semester,  I purposely chose classes that are extremely early so I can enjoy the rest of my day.
5. Coffee or Tea 
Coffee. It is my life saver before I go to school.  However I do not drink coffee at home too often.
6. Top knot or Ponytail 
Top knot. I normally wear my hair out,  so on the days I do not want to curl my hair I wear it in a top knot. It is a great hairstyle when you very little time to get ready in the morning.
 7. Flats or Heels
Heels. I am 5'1" and a half I think. I like to add height to my everyday looks anyway I can. However I do not wear 6" heels I wear more reasonable heels like 2- 4 inches.
8. Dogs or Cats
Dogs. Although as a kid my pets were mostly cats , I do love dogs. Dogs are more dependent on their owners than Cats. My dream dog of life is Rottweiler.
9. Marathon tv shows or Watch once a week 
Marathon tv shows. I recently were introduced to the first season of americam horror story and I watched it one sitting. I plan on watching the second season in the same fashion. I like to watch shows from beginning to end.
10. Shop in-person or Shop online 
Shop online. Less fuss and there are usually better sales online than in store. The only downside of shopping online is not being able to try on clothes. However when your packages arrive at your door it feels like Christmas.
 11. Introvert or Extrovert
Introvert. Most of the time I like to be in my own little world and away from others.  But of course you have to socialize with people and my friend circle is pretty small.
12. Hermione+Harry or Hermione+Ron
 (N/A). I never read the harry potter books or watched the movies
13. Candy or Cake
Cake. My favorite cake is the Strawberry shortcake from Juniors. The frosting and the strawberries are the best.
14. Smokey eye or Cat eye 
Cat eye. My everyday makeup look is pretty simple so I love using liquid liner to create my cat eye.
15. In the event of a zombiepocalypse: Hatchet or Handgun
Hatchet. I never used either before but I think the hatchet would be easier to use and more precise.

We are literally two weeks away from January coming to a complete end. Recently I saw a tag on Youtube called " About a Year Ago", it is quick recap of my life in 2014 and what's to come in the year 2015.

Let's begin...

1. Biggest Accomplishment of 2014
This past semester I got A's & B's in my most difficult classes ever. I am so proud of myself. Last semester, I didn't do too well in my pre-calculus class, I failed miserably. As far back I can remember, math was never my strongest subject so I wasn't surprised when I got a big F. However this semester, I got a B+, that is my biggest improvement.

2. Best Memory of 2014
Red Lobster Date. I do not go often so every time is more memorable then the last time. It was second time ever!!!! :-D

3. Biggest Obstacle of 2014
Allowing myself to open up to people I do not know personally. I can be very quite at times which can be misread by strangers. But I hope my blog would help to open me up to you guys. People that I are closer to me could testify that I do not express my feelings, I usually internalize it because I do not want to bother people with my problems. I will be turning 27 in about a month so I hope that changes in the year 2015.

4. Top 5 Favorite Beauty Products of 2014 *Updated*

• Blissful brown by Maybelline. It was my life- saver on schools days because I didn't want to worry about reapplying throughout the day.
• Sonia Kashuk hand crème in Pink Innocencia. I carry it in my bag everyday.
• Wet n Wild eye shadow palette in Comfort Zone
• Wet n Wild eye shadow palette in The Naked Truth. I love neutral eye shadows and these palette also come with instructions of where to apply.
• Sonia Kashuk kabuki brush. I used it to apply my mineralized skinfinish powder.

Sincerely Jules. I have pinned many of her looks on Pinterest that I plan on recreating  myself. She inspires me to wear items in my closet in different ways.

Amourveroo I love her blogging style it is so simple and chic and I adore her big curly hair.

8. Regrets in 2014
I do not have any regrets, because what is meant to be will be. I have no control of my future holds but I do know God will direct me down the right path. I just enjoying this ride called my life even with the ups and downs.

9. Most Memorable Phrases of 2014
"Stay With It" which I got from Tamar Braxton on Braxton Family Values reality show. She is my favorite Braxton sister and I'm not being bias because she is a Pisces, I swear ;-).

10. Most Embarrassing Moment of 2014
One day I decided to wear a new pairs of shoes to school and as I was walking I stumbled and almost lost a shoe because I was not used to them yet. I do not think anyone saw me THANK GOD!!!.

11. Lessons Learned in 2014
Keep people in your life that show you they want to be in it and cherish them until the end of time.
I learned that my school journey will not be easy but I know I can do it with the help of the people who love me.

12. Goals for 2015
I want to look into some fashion internships. 
My main goal is to grow as a person.
I would love to travel more this year somewhere abroad.  My last destination was a few years ago to Miami.

13. What I'm Looking Forward to in 2015
 I am looking forward to turning 27, I am excited and nervous at the same time. I would rather get older and learn than to die young.

Hello, Everyone!! I  know I am not an vlogger but I am a new blogger and I want my readers to get to know me outside of the usual fashion blogpost. I watch a variety of vloggers on YouTube who focus on everything from fashion to show reviews.  I found a tag on YouTube called the TMI Tag that was featured on 4itsrox YouTube channel. 

It's a long tag that consist of 50 questions, so here goes!!!

1: What are you wearing? Today is a very cold day in NYC so I had to layer my clothes for the Winter-like temperatures.  I really wanted to my white wrap skirt from Target so  I choose 2 pairs of tight and a pair of leggings to wear underneath the skirt. I'm also wearing a long sleeve t-shirt underneath my off white sweater which is topped off with a silver double strand necklace from Banana Republic. I finished my look with silver bangles and over the knee boots from Zara that I brought at Beacons closet, a thrift shop in Williamsburg. Lastly I'm wearing my favorite lipstick for the Fall which is Va-Va Violet by Revlon.

2: Ever been in love? Yes

3: Ever had a terrible breakup?  Yes, I was in high school and we was together off and on for 3 years  But the last time I broke up with him. One thing I learned from that relationship is never go back to the person who hurt you so badly.

4: How tall are you? 5 feet and 2 inches

5: How much do you weigh? I fluctuate between 145- and 150. I need to weigh myself ASAP!!

6: Any tattoos? No, but I would love full arm tattoos.

7: Any piercings? Only my ears are pierced but I rarely wear earrings. I like to wear statement necklaces or bangles instead.

8: OTP? ( One True Pairing) Although they are fictional characters I  would have to pick Martin and Gina from the Martin show,  I love the relationship they have.

9: Favorite show? Martin and Law and Order( all three series but especially SVU)

10: Favorite bands?  I miss the boy bands from the  late 80's to the early 2000's  which include Bell Biv  Devoe, New Edition, N'Sync, B2K, and Boyz to Men.

11: Something you miss? I miss high school because I didn't have any responsibilities. Being an adult sucks lol.

12: Favorite song? My favorite song at the moment is  La Di Da Di by Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick. I listen to it everyday on my way to school.

13: How old are you? I'm 26 years old and I turn 27 in three months. I'm getting so old !!!

14: Zodiac sign? Pisces 

15: Quality you look for in a partner? Honesty, Faithfulness, Trustworthy

16: Favorite Quote? " Life is like a camera. Focus on what's important & you'll capture it perfectly".

17: Favorite actor? Al Pacino !! I fell in love with him the very first time I watched one of his classics, Scarface

18: Favorite color? Black, black and more black.

19: Loud music or soft? I generally listen to loud music when I'm studying or doing homework. And as a New Yorker, I definitely listen to loud music during my daily commute, ITS A MUST!!!

20: Where do you go when you’re sad? I usually stay in my house and shut out the outside world by drowning myself with music. It makes me feel better.

21: How long does it take you to shower? It usually takes me 15-20 Minutes but if I have to other things like wash my hair or shave at least 30 minutes.  

22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? I give myself two hours to get ready and leave my house because I live so far. 

23: Ever been in a physical fight? Yeah in elementary school but I do not remember why.

24: Turn on? A guy who can cook and make me laugh. If you can feed me good, I'm all yours.

25: Turn off? Loud obnoxious people 

26: The reason I joined Youtube   Blogger?   It all begin with instagram when I started to feature my outfit of the days but obviously you have limited space on that social platform  so I thought a blog will best fit my fashion ideas and  my style. I love reading fashion blogs so I thought I could do it too.

27: Fears? I'm scared of dying before I'm able to accomplish any of my life goals. ex, a career that I love, marriage/ creating my own family and traveling. On a lighter note I'm afraid of bugs they freak me out, maybe I should become an exterminator instead (just kidding I'll lose m mind)

28: Last thing that made you cry? I've been waiting a long time to meet the requirements to take a test to enter the nursing problem. But unexpectedly I was not able to register to take the test this semester, I have to wait another year.

29: Last time you said you loved someone? The last person was my father, he lives in Florida now 

30: Meaning behind your YouTube Blogger Name? It is a song by Prince called Darling Nikki.

31: Last book you read? 50 shades of Grey however I did not finish the trilogy

32: The book you’re currently reading? I'm currently reading " How Europe Undeveloped Africa" by Walter Rodney for my history class.

41: Last time you were insulted? I can't remember a time when I was personally insulted but living in NYC you are bound to encounter some rude people throughout the day.

43: What instruments do you play? The last instrument I played was in the fifth grade and it was the clarinet.

44: Favorite piece of jewelry? My silver choker necklace from H&M I brought  a few years ago

45: Last sport you played? I do not play any sports, shopping is my sport!!
