Espadrilles Fiesta

Espadrilles are becoming the summer shoe of the season thanks to the release of the famous Chanel espadrilles back in 2013. It is true when they say , nothing is new under the sun. I remember wearing wearing a pair of nude lace up espadrilles to my kindergarten graduation, Yes I say KINDERGARTEN!!!!. Now I may not remember what I ate yesterday, but I do remember some of  my favorite childhood outfits, I only have room for fashion lol. Now I do not have the bank account to afford designer espadrilles but I can appreciate a good fashion dupe. I recently purchased two pairs of espadrilles from URBANOG website (as pictured below).

Leatherette Espadrilles ( Buy HERE & HERE)

Both pairs of shoes cost less than $40, you can't beat the price. I am patiently waiting for the mailman to deliver my package AKA my new babies. I can't wait to wear them!!!

Go Faux

Hello, Everyone!!!.
On Monday it was a very brisk day in New York City, I woke up to temperatures in the lower 40's. I decided to layer up my faux fur vest instead of wearing a huge coat, I refuse to accept the fact that it is Fall now. I added warmth to my outfit by wearing a matching thin sweater underneath my silk blouse from Forever 21. When I first brought these cargo pants from H&M more than two years ago they fit very tight but after my weight loss I was able to send them to a seamstress to fit my current size.
After you lose weight you do not have to get rid of your clothes that no longer fit, a simple trip to the tailor will do the trick.

Crazy for Camo

Hello, I'm still in studying mode but this is what I wore to school today. In this day and age we can find inspiration from any and everywhere including fashion blogs, social media, etc. Gone are the days when people depended upon fashion magazines to find inspiration for their own style. Today I was inspired by one of my favorite fashion bloggers Julie Sarinana from Sincerely Jules. She has amazing style  and wears everything so effortlessly. Once I saw a picture of this outfit on her blog (seen here) I  immediately recreated the look with the items in my wardrobe. It is the perfect casual outfit to runaround in school with style. I started with this 3/4 sleeved coral sweatshirt that I brought about five years from Banana Republic when I worked there. I paired it with light wash jeans, nude accessories and I also included bangles and camouflage jacket to finish off the look.

Top: Banana Republic
Jeans: Forever 21
Flats: Sam & Libby for Target

Bag: Thrift store
Jewelry: From Mom's Closet

Sorry for the quality of the picture, but its the best I could do under these circumstances
Enjoy!!!

Until next time, XOXO

Currently Coveting

I started my weight loss journey about two and a half years ago & I'm happy to say I've maintain my goal weight. I did not become a gym buff overnight but I started to watch my portion size and count my calories, eventually the pounds started to melt away. My motivation to lose weight begin when I wasn't able to fit into a pair of jeans that I used to be able to fit.   Initially my weight loss goal was just to fit into my current wardrobe  I did not worry about dropping to a certain dress size. I went down from a size 12/14 to a size 8/10 some people may think its not a drastic weight loss but any amount of weight loss is a victory. I'm so proud of myself. The downside of losing weight is losing your favorite items in your wardrobe that you can no longer fit because they are too big. However the upside of losing weight is being able to buy new clothes to fit your new body better. I'm so proud of myself!!
Here are a few items  I need to replace in my closet at the moment and trendy items I want to add to my fall wardrobe ...

New in my Closet

My new shoes for the new season!!! These are the most pumps I ever owned  in my lifetime, I was in desperate in need of pumps.  I tend to only shop for boots, flats or sandals. I recently take the plunge and signed up for Shoedazzle, a shoe lovers dream. Its a monthly subscription for shoes and bags that allow you to shop a showroom of shoes that reflects your personal style and wants. You are also allowed to skip a month if its not in your budget but really how could pass it up.
My first buy was a pair of Steve Madden ankle strap sandals with a mid-heel (pictured to the left). Every month I definitely plan on stocking up on pumps as well as boots. Before the fall season started, I started my shoe binge at Target, where I found classic pumps at a great price. A woman can never have too many shoes!!!

Here are the shoes currently in my closet and
a few from Shoedazzle I have my eye on.

From Left to Right 1. Burgundy chunky heel pumps 2. Leopard Print chunky heel pumps
3. Burgundy mid heel pumps 4. Black mid heel pumps
