C is for Capes

Hello, Everyone!!!

Please forgive my absence for the past week but I've been studying for very important exams. Between studying and this freckly weather its getting pretty difficult to dress in the morning but when all else fails, I will always choose an all black outfit with a pop of camel. It is never a bad time to wear it especially in the daytime. I gravitate towards my Fall wool capes when I do not want to commit to a heavy coat just yet. It is the perfect transition outerwear that every women should own this Fall . Since the cape is the star piece, I kept the look simple by layering a black v- neck sweater and wet look leggings underneath. I accessorized with a leopard print handbag and a multi- chained necklace.

On Wednesdays , We Wear Maxi's

Hello, Everyone !!!.

Although we have about two weeks until October is over, I am finding ways to breathe new life into my favorite maxi dresses. I brought this dress from an affordable boutique in Downtown Brooklyn a few years ago. It has an edgy, geometric Afrocentric print with earthy and green tones that I absolutely adore. It shares a uncanny resemblance to the scarf print column maxi dresses in Givenchy resort '13 collection (seen HERE). I decided to keep the look simple by accessorizing with a gold plated necklace because the dress speaks for itself. I paired the maxi dress with a leather jacket and wedge mules to complete the look.

How to Dress Up Overalls for Fall

Hello, Everyone!!!!.

There is a good reason why babies and infants wear overalls  throughout their early years. In my opinion you can never be too old to wear overalls. The first thing that usually comes to mind when you think of overalls is old man farmer pants. I am here to change your perception of the denim onesie. They can be easily dressed down with your favorite striped t-shirt, leather jacket and boots for fall. However I decided to dress up my overalls with  smart key pieces in my wardrobe, the blazer and button up shirt.Who says you have to give up your floral prints during the Fall season. I love the mirrored floral print on this shirt because the florals match my shoes and bag so well. To finish the look  I paired my overalls with a soft pink blazer to dress it up.
