How to Wear Sequins for the Holiday

The holiday season is here and although I am already tired of all the holiday commercials on TV, I couldn't imagine a better reason to wear sequins then on Thanksgiving. If you have an dinner party to attend with family or friends, I would suggest wearing a sequin pencil skirt instead of a boring cocktail dress. You can pair any of your holiday sequins with your most casual items in your wardrobe.  I love the juxtaposition of pairing sequins with my favorite denim shirt. To edge the look up, I topped it off with my leather jacket that I wore as a cape.

Sweater Weather: Thanksgiving Edition

 

 

 

Hello, Everyone!!!

 

Its been a long time since I celebrated Thanksgiving at my own home usually I have to travel to my aunt's on my mother side or my best friend place. However this Thanksgiving, my mom and her husband are having dinner at their home which is not too far from my place . I am happy that I don't have to commute all day and get straight to the festivities. I will be spending this Thanksgiving with the people I love the most.

P.S. I have an obsession with anything leopard print. I own everything from leopard print shirts, leopard print jeans, leopard print outerwear and accessories.  I've been coveting a pair of leopard print booties to add to my wardrobe for some time now. When I ran into these Sam & Libby

pair at Target I knew they were coming home with me. The combination of brown and black makes it easy to pair with any items in my wardrobe. I paired the leopard print boots with my new favorite brown coat at the moment because it is roomy enough to layer over chunky sweaters. I accessorized with a skinny belt to cinch in my waist and topped it off with a festive statement necklace.

It was unusually cold at the beginning of the week, old man winter has arrived particularly early just in time for thanksgiving weekend. It was impossible to take off my coat to show off my printed dress without risking getting sick. However I decided to showcase my grey wool coat that I brought at Banana Republic a few years ago. The 3/4 quarter sleeves on the coat allow you to layer with long sleeve sweaters or you can accessorize with long leather gloves when you don't want to wear a sweater underneath. It is very important to wear more layers then usual when wearing your dresses in colder weather so I decided to wear my over the knee boots to keep me warm and I added a faux fur scarf to top it off.

At the beginning of every week I like to have an idea of what I want to wear to school. However there are days when I don't hear my alarm in the morning and I oversleep. When this happens , I believe that my best outfits come when I have the least amount of time to get ready. The more time I have available, I am left contemplating what to wear and leaving my house in a fashionably mess. Over the weekend I grabbed the nearest pair of dark jeans I could find as my foundation to this look. The fall temperatures are beginning to come around so I used that to my advantage by layering a chunky sweater under my boxy brown coat. To stay warm I bundled up with a faux fur collar. This bang hairstyle is giving me 70's vibes so I accessorized with big vintage sunglasses and dark brown knee high boots.

If they look familiar its because there are a dupe for the Dior "So Real" mirrored sunglasses and were seen by every celebrity such as Rihanna and Olivia Palermo. Since the beginning of the week, I've been living in my wool capes. They are definitely my go-to outerwear for the warm temperatures we are having this Fall. I paired my camel cape with a black pencil skirt that I own in the color taupe as well. I choose a silk black top with gold buttoms that I wore tucked into the skirt. If you stick to the Fall colors in nature, you will find the best combinations to incorporate into your daily outfits. Burgundy is one of my favorite colors to wear for Fall, it looks great paired with denim, camel or black. Leopard and burgundy are a fool-proof combination to wear together. Instead of wearing the usual blue denim, I opted for a pair of burgundy skinny pants. It's better late than never, I know its the second week of November but here are a few looks from October that I loved the most. In the month of October, my looks consist of my favorite Fall essentials which included leather, a classic trench coat, dark lace and colorful plaid. To make my outfits appropriate for Fall I added leather jacket to my summer maxi skirts and dresses or leather joggers and leggings paired with a camel cape or a blazer. I only own two plaid items in my wardrobe including this scarf and I took full advantage of it functionality to keep me warm when I wear skirts with no tights. My floppy hats are also my favorite accessory to wear either with my trench cape or a lace maxi skirt for a instant boho look.
